Configure Squarespace
Create a Squarespace API key to connect Order Invoicer
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure that:
- You have a Squarespace site with Commerce enabled
- You have owner or administrator access to the site
Get your API key
Order Invoicer connects to Squarespace with your site URL and an API key that has the Commerce permission.
Create an API key
- Log in to your Squarespace site
- Go to Settings > Advanced > Developer Tools > API Keys
- Click Generate Key and give it a name (e.g. "Order Invoicer")
Grant the Commerce permission
- For the new key, enable the Orders permission (read)
- Save and copy the full key
The Commerce / Orders permission is required — without it, Order Invoicer cannot fetch your orders.
Enter your credentials in Order Invoicer
In the Squarespace connection form:
- Store URL: your site's address (e.g.
https://www.mysite.com) - API Key: the key you copied in the previous step
Click Test connection to verify your credentials before continuing.
Troubleshooting
"Invalid credentials" error
- Check that the key was copied in full, with no spaces
- Make sure the Orders / Commerce permission is granted
- Check that the key was not revoked from Squarespace
