Deferred payments
Choose which payment methods allow invoicing before funds are received
A customer can choose bank transfer without having sent the money yet. Selecting a payment method does not confirm that the order is paid.
In Settings → Payments → Deferred payments, choose the methods for which the connector may create a document before payment is received. This setting is available for every connector and can be edited from the Launch plan.
What does this list change?
| Method | Document creation | Payment synchronization |
|---|---|---|
| Included in the list | May happen before payment, even with the “The order has been paid” trigger | Matching payments are excluded from synchronization to the invoicing software |
| Not included | Follows the trigger selected in Workflows | Follows the payment synchronization settings and conditions |
The list creates an exception to the payment requirement. Other workflow conditions still apply: adding a method does not guarantee that an invoice will be created immediately.
Wait for a bank transfer before invoicing
- Open Settings → Payments → Deferred payments.
- Remove the bank transfer method. On WooCommerce, its identifier is usually
bacs, displayed as Bank transfer. Also remove any other entries matching that transfer, such as a custom label sent by the store. - Click Save.
- In Workflows, select The order has been paid for the invoice creation workflow, then save.
- Once the transfer arrives, confirm payment in your store. The connector waits for the synchronized data to indicate confirmed payment.
The connector uses the store’s payment information; it does not check your bank account. Choosing “Bank transfer” at checkout or marking an order as fulfilled does not confirm payment.
Once payment is confirmed in the synchronized data, the order becomes eligible for invoicing, subject to the other workflow conditions.
Add or remove a method
Click Add to search for a method observed on your orders. Its icon and label help you identify it; the store’s identifier appears underneath when it differs from the label.
If a method is missing, enter its exact identifier or label as sent by the store, then select the add option. For example, cod means cash on delivery.
Use Remove to delete an entry, then Save to apply your changes. Cancel restores the saved list. You can leave the list empty: no method will then benefit from this exception.
Configured methods remain visible even if no recent order uses them.
Plan access and when changes take effect
- Launch and higher: you can edit the list and choose the trigger.
- Lower plans, including Starter: the list remains visible but read-only. After a downgrade, configured methods are retained and remain active; the plan’s trigger restrictions still apply.
- Changes apply to future synchronizations. They do not automatically reprocess historical orders or change existing invoices.
